Discover the Untamed Beauty of Antisana – A Hidden Gem Near Quito!

Embark on an unforgettable adventure just a short drive from Quito! Departing at 7:30 a.m., we head east through the picturesque valley of Sangolquí toward Antisana, one of Ecuador’s most breathtaking and biologically rich national reserves.

Home to a stunning variety of Andean wildlife, Antisana is a haven for nature lovers and birdwatchers alike. This protected area plays a vital role as a water source for Quito and offers a rare chance to witness the majestic Andean Condor—the largest flying bird in the Andes—soaring through the sky. With a bit of luck, you may even spot the elusive Andean bear, white-tailed deer, or Andean foxes.

Our journey continues with a scenic 2-hour hike starting at the beautiful Micacocha Lake, surrounded by highland landscapes and incredible views. On clear days, the snow-capped Antisana Volcano provides a truly awe-inspiring backdrop that will take your breath away.

After the hike, you’ll have the option to descend to a local restaurant by bike or by car, where a delicious lunch awaits to recharge your energy before we head back to Quito around 4:00 p.m.
